Rose Petal Powder - Gulab Patti Powder - Rosa Gallica Powder
What is Gulab Patti Powder (Rosa Gallica Powder):
Rosa gallica var. officinalis is an erect, bushy small shrub with dull greyish-green foliage and profuse, highly fragrant, semi-double, light crimson flowers to 8cm in width in early summer. Small oval hips in autumn.
Every year rose breeders carry out hundreds of thousands of crosses, mainly amongst improved garden roses, to get new cultivars with improved character traits. These crosses are not difficult because, as most garden cultivars are tetraploid, the crosses are compatible. Usually, the hybrid seed of these garden cultivars germinate in the following year without showing seed dormancy. Furthermore, the seedlings develop flowers very early.
